About Me – Poppy Wonnacott, Certified Life Coach
How goes it, my lovelies?
I’m Poppy, a Certified Life Coach based in beautiful Cornwall. I offer both in-person sessions in Cornwall & Devon, as well as remote life coaching online (e-coaching). My passion for coaching stems from the profound benefits it can bring to individuals seeking transformation. Or in simpler terms, I love helping people transform their lives.
Who Do I Coach?
I work with people who feel stuck & resonate with one (or more!) of the following statements:
I feel stuck in my career / life / relationship
I’m facing a stumbling block in my work / life & don’t know how to move forward
I feel anxious about what I "should" be doing
I can’t remember the last time I felt confident
I know what I want but don’t seem to be taking action
I need impartial support to navigate important decisions
I’m seeking clarity in my situation
My key relationships feel flat or stuck in a cycle
I can’t seem to move on from a past situation
I’m experiencing decision fatigue with so many changes I want to make
I feel blocked & like I’m going through the motions
I struggle to feel joy in my life
If any of these resonate with you, let’s have a conversation about it! It can be daunting to consider change, but together we’ll navigate your journey.
I’ll guide you through reflective questions, actively listen & gently challenge you. We’ll create a forward-focused plan that helps you take steady steps towards your goals. Let’s align you with your future self!
My Journey to Coaching
My path to becoming a Transformational Life Coach began with an English Literature degree from Queen Mary’s University in East London, after I developed a love for literature in my childhood (shout out to all the libraries!). I spent years working in various industries—selling books, managing spaces, organising events—pretty much all focused on managing people’s expectations. While I enjoyed much of my work, I often disconnected from the roles after two years, feeling stagnant, or tired of masking my empathetic nature.
In 2020, I received redundancy when the company I worked for was sold. I seized this opportunity to train as a Certified Life Coach through Animas, accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) & the Association for Coaching (AC). This was one of the best decisions I’ve made!
I understand that change isn’t always comfortable, but staying stuck in a space you’ve outgrown is far more challenging.
A Little More About Me
To give you a glimpse of my personality, here’s a mini Q&A:
Favourite Book?
Despite my love for reading & my extensive book collection (my tbr pile is extensive), I can’t choose a favourite! But Virginia Woolf, Toni Morrison, Jane Austen & Celeste Ng are authors I reread. I’ve previously shared books I’m reading on Instagram.
Do You Get Coaching?
Absolutely! I practice what I preach. I also read life coaching and psychology books and am currently training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to further assist my clients. Every day is a school day! Also, I read daily excerpts by Jiddu Krishnamurti for grounded, wise & very human inspiration.
What Do You Do To Unwind?
I love to move, whether it’s walking, sea-swimming, dancing, or yoga. I also enjoy reading (if that’s not clear) and listening to a wide variety of music.
Most Used Quote?
“Self-love, my liege, is not so vile a sin as self-neglecting.” — William Shakespeare, Hamlet V. Selfishness is often misunderstood; neglecting yourself, putting your needs last, will prevent you from showing up authentically for others. You can burn yourself out so, controversially, be a little more selfish!
